UUVC’s Insight Service welcomes the return of Rabbi Eugene Levy on Sunday, November 22. The service will be an online service that can be accessed on the church’s website, www.uuvc.org.
Rabbi Levy will explore the current world of the pandemic and its feelings of fear and insecurity. Can the world find some comfort and a sense of gratitude—both to God and each other? Rabbi Levy was born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He attended the University of Texas and the Rabbinic School at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is married with three adult children and two grandchildren. He served as the rabbi of Congregation B’nai Israel in Little Rock from 1987-2011. After retiring, he has continued to work both with smaller Jewish congregations and with churches in Arkansas and Louisiana. He has been very active in interfaith and civic activities. He is a co-founder of the Arkansas Interfaith Alliance and has become a frequent guest speaker at UUVC.
